The company had worked with Richard Bettison on previous occasions when he suggested our company to Lancaster PLC for undertaking these works. The tender for this contract was returned in February 2005, with confirmation of our success in May 2005 for the sum of £70,031.10. During the contract we were asked to carry out approximately £8,000 of additional works.</p>
Since this project has been completed we have carried out several other projects for Richard Bettison of BBS and their clients, Lancaster PLC and Jardine Motors, with the company having a responsive contract with East London Porsche
External works, tanking, drainage and new car park - £78,223
The works comprised of:
- Excavation to reduce levels to facilitate the construction of new tarmacadam hard standings and to set out white lining to car park in approved road marking paint. Because of the discovery of very soft ground and spring water we had to excavate to an additional depth, causing a variation to the agreed price.
- Drainage- new surface water drainage, surface water gullies and manholes, using the Marley Drainline channel system.
- Tanking – took off external skirting, rendered plinth sections, leaving the brickwork ready for treatment. Applied 2 no coats RIW liquid asphaltic composition.
Variations to the contract included the installation of kerbing to the north west elevation, the formation of steps and the repair of sections of concrete using Fosroc Paveroc. The rendering of plinth and the installation and connection of 1 no. Aco drain were also additional variations / extras.
