We priced and were successful in the tender for alterations and new build to John Bunyan School for Essex County Council and its Architects, Castons.
The majority of these works took place during the school holidays, but due to the scale of the project work also took place during term time. Constant communication between ourselves the school and the architect was heightened during Stage 3 of the works - alterations to and the extension of the administrative area. This was to remain a working area with staff, children and parents using the facilities so health and safety was of great prominence. A hoarding was installed down the centre of the corridor for the safety of all concerned.
Extension of Administrative offices
The main scope of works were as follows:
- Construction of the extension comprised of load bearing brick/ blockwork cavity wall foundations of mass concrete with pre-cast concrete suspended floor slab.
- Flat roof comprising of timber structures covered with HP felt.
- Mechanical and electrical services.
- External works and drainage
